We are currently accumulating experience with other platforms and once the platform has satisfied our testing processes, we will offer them as a service as well.

1. CONSISTENCY

We upload reports, run data, make adjustments, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

We peek daily at the income and growth to make sure there are no problems.

Essentially, we have our eyes on your work the entire month and usually catch things before you even know there’s something to catch.

2. REPORTS

Monthly reports that you’ll get on the First* of the month that will discuss the prior month’s performance, as well as deliver a detailed plan for going forward with suggestions and recommendations.

*The Second, if the First is on Sunday.or if the data isn't updated on the author's end.

3. APPLIED KNOWLEDGE

We are constantly learning and testing and applying.

With millions of dollars in ad spend between the ad managers, you're getting experience as well as knowledge on what's going on and what steps to take to improve your income.

Experience is what will get you through this platform chaos.

4. SECURITY

We take multiple steps to help insure the safety of your accounts as well as your information.

No one even knows you’re our client unless you tell them or you came by referral.

This is a predictable platform and is easy to scale.

No big following necessary. You don’t even need an active page (but it does help with CPC cost!)

These ads take patience and knowledge.

They also take time.

We’ll create the ads, curate the target lists, and monitor the data.

This simply puts you on our radar and we reach out to you to see if we’ll be compatible and if we can help you.

You’ll receive emails from us as we discuss options and decide what we want to do moving forward – if it’s a yes, CONGRATULATIONS!

We will move toward the next steps!

You’ll get an onboarding email from us on the 25th of the month prior to when you start.

You’ll get an invoice on the 29th (unless it’s February).

The first of month when we start with you, you’ll receive a report on your past income/ad performance as well as your ad strategy lined out for you.

Once you approve this plan, ads start the next day or two and you’ll be alerted to the new time line and any other communication that needs to happen will.

Month 1 is us repositioning your ad budget to better audiences, targets, and with better creatives. You’ll see better CPC, CTR, and ROI this month, but this is NOT the month to scale. Don’t ask.

Month 2 – 4 is going to be where we discuss scaling, positioning, and marketing. You’ll definitely want to be honest with us regarding your budget and release schedule. We’ll make suggestions regarding marketing, promotions, and budget plans.

Moving forward, it’s individualized based on ad strategy, plan, businesses, and more.

You reach out to us when you need us and we will get back to you as soon as we can. The only day we’re not available at all is Sunday.

Thankfully, there’s no such thing as an emergency in our industry.

WHY WOULDN’T I BE SELECTED AS A CLIENT FOR FYI?

Usually this is followed by something like, don’t you like me? Are you a bword? Etc.While yes, sometimes I do think I’m a bword, ultimately, this isn’t a personal thing. We don’t believe in mixing business with relationships.

So, what could possibly have made us not take you on, if it wasn’t a rumor or a comment made in the dark recesses of the author world?

Simple. We don’t feel your work is ready for this kind of an ad investment.

Once we take you on, we invest ourselves in your work. We feel the highs and lows almost like you do. This isn’t a joke to us. This is something we take personally, even though it’s business.

If we don’t feel that your books/products are ready to marketed, we won’t take you on. That would be a waste of our time and your money. Being wasteful isn’t something we do here at FYI.

We’ll usually let you know what’s going on and why, but it won’t be in-depth. If you’d like an in-depth branding/business consult, check out that page and see if that’s what you’re ready for.

And actually, yes, we have turned people away because we didn’t feel we were compatible with working with them. We’re clear about this as well.

HOW MUCH IS THE RETAINER FEE? AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?

Our retainer fee is applicable to each ad platform that we manage for you.

We charge a monthly fee of $1,000 per ad platform. This is NOT per pen name. Just platform. If you have more than 3 pen names you want help with, this will alter this fee.

We don’t have an ad minimum or maximum (Facebook does lol).

We don’t require that you turn off your ads. We will get in and analyze what you have and what you need from us and create new ads based on what your goals are and what your budgetary limitations are.

WHY DOES FYI REQUIRE AUTHOR HELPER SUITE (AKA READERLINKS)?

If you haven’t used AHS, I would highly recommend checking them out. Their features are immeasurable and they have so many great things that will help with your author business.

We require that you get an account with them and add us a VA so we can access your income information as well as upload your ad report/spend (we do the reports for the ad platforms you hire us for). We also utilize their series read-through tool and many others including their link tracking tool.

Their pricing is ridiculously low compared to what they offer and we do NOT get affiliate income for recommending them. We recommend them because they’re awesome. End of story.

HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE ADS?

You’ll add us to your AMS account or your FB account, or both (depending on what you’re hiring us for) as editors/employees/advertisers (FB changes the titles all the time), or as an admin on AMS.

We will need access to your FB pages we’ll be running ads to as well.

As to the how we manage the ads? That’s a secret. Hehehehe

HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU WORK FOR ME A MONTH?

Yeah, that doesn’t matter. You’re paying for our knowledge and skill. Sometimes it takes longer and sometimes it doesn’t. Usually it depends on my internet (rural connectivity) and if FB has made unnecessary changes or not.

You’re paying for results. We deliver results.If you’re looking for an hourly breakdown, I’d recommend hiring a VA for that who does hourly work.

WHY ARE YOU SO BLUNT? (BOLD AND ANOTHER BWORD)

Go ahead and say what you’re thinking. Bword. Lol. Okay, I won’t say it. I don’t like blatant cussing even though I do it often enough.

We’re blunt and bold and we say what we’re thinking and we tell the truth. This is because it does NO ONE any favors for us to flower things up and sugarcoat our answers. Flattery costs money. Blunt and bold gets things done.

And if we’re being completely honest, if we were guys, we probably wouldn’t get this question as often as we do.

We’re bold, blunt, and honest, and we won’t apologize for it. Your business will benefit from our frankness.

If our boldness offends you, then we’re probably right. Take a second, mull it over, and consider if what we’re saying is right and if you’re willing to apply it to your business.

With a collective 30 years experience in the business between us, we’re bound to be right a few times. 😉

WAS I REALLY WAITLISTED? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

All this means is we don’t have a slot available at this time. We really are invested in our clients and we don’t believe in overloading our schedules.

Plus, we don’t ONLY do ads.

Bonnie has multiple pen names she writes for, 6 kids she homeschools, other businesses she runs, as well as volunteering for her church. Time isn’t something that grows on trees.

Mandie has pen names she’s working on growing as well, 2 kids she homeschools, other businesses she runs as well as helping her husband with his business. She’s tried taking out a credit card for time, but they’re not available yet.

Rest assured, we will put you on our list and reach out as soon as we have something available come up. If you’d rather not go on the list, that’s okay, too!

WHY DO YOU VET YOUR CLIENTS?

I’ve had people tell me that I should just take them on, regardless of their catalog or anything else.

Sorry, that’s not the way we work. Our retainer fee isn’t cheap. Ad spend isn’t cheap.

What kind of a business or PERSON would I be, if I took your money while knowing from the beginning you’re not going to get that big of a return? I don’t think I’d like to be that person.

If we look over your stuff and we agree to work with you or we waitlist you, it means that even if your product/business needs a little bit of tweaking, it’s going to be fairly easy changes to make or you don’t need to make any and we feel confident that with the right ads and audiences, we can get you making money, or more money.

But if we can’t confidently look at your catalog and think that, then it’s a no from us. And we feel bad, but at the same time, we would feel even worse if we took your money while KNOWING we couldn’t do anything for you.

WHY DO YOU CHARGE SO MUCH FOR YOUR MONTHLY RETAINER FEE?

Why do you think it’s so much money?

I think it’s a valid question, but at the same time, you’re looking for someone to manage your ads, save you time. Even if you know ads and you like doing them, do you have the time to run them for yourself?

They take time. They take knowledge. And even if you have that knowledge, do you want to put your time and energy into running them for your catalog?

That’s why we’re here. We know the platforms we manage. We know them well. We also know trends, and how to make ads work. Without too much testing.

That’s what you’re getting with us. We’ve got the knowledge and experience ALREADY. Testing for your work will be very straightforward and easy.

As soon as we feel your work is finished testing, we’ll begin scaling.

Do you know how to scale? Do you want to babysit it like we do? If you do, then maybe you need to apply to be one of our ad managers. (No, but seriously, let’s talk)

If you’re ready to take your work to the next level, you pay for people to manage sections of your business. That’s what we do. We manage ads. And we do a pretty dang good job of it, too.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BUDGET FOR MONTHLY TO RUN ADS WITH YOU?

Minimum is $150 for the month. But, if you’re hiring us to run your ads, it’s probably in your best interest to at least match the retainer fee.

Keep in mind, FB will spend your money like air. So if you tell us $30 a day, we’re going to spend $30 a day. Period.

If you tell us $50 a day in AMS ads however, we’re going to bust our butts to get there, but it takes a while (AMS, sigh). We’ll most likely get there faster than you would think, but it will still take time. Plan on that daily budget being met for a funds availability thing, but don’t count on it.

Everything is run through your own ad accounts, so you can see what is set up for what.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE WAY YOU’RE RUNNING MY ADS?

You might not.

But first, you WILL NOT touch the ads. At all. You won’t make changes. You won’t turn things off, etc. That’s part of the agreement with working with us.

Your ad account essentially becomes ours. If you make any changes and we don’t know about it, those changes are then undocumented and if makes any changes in your income, we can’t track it. We track everything.

Everything.

You don’t touch the ads.

You do, however, reach out to us and discuss what you don’t like, why, and what you want changed.

Here’s the thing though. If you’ve hired us, most likely you’ve tried other ad managers or running ads yourself. How’d that work for you? If you came to us, you most likely didn’t have great success doing it that way.

So don’t try to get us to do it that way as well. We have our own systems and methods in place after running hundreds of thousands of dollars in ads over years and with many, many clients. We feel confident our methods work.
